In line with this, the Fidesz-KDNP delegation to the European Parliament has submitted a comprehensive package of amendments to the proposal. <\/strong><strong>In this context, Fidesz MEP Vikt\u00f3ria Ferenc, a member of the European Parliament\u2019s Committee on Public Health, emphasized: \u201cEnsuring medicine supply for Hungarian and European citizens is our primary task. To achieve this, we must make Europe an attractive investment destination once again.\u201d Andr\u00e1s Gy\u00fcrk, Fidesz MEP and member of the Patriots group, stated: \u201cAs a patriotic Hungarian representative, it is our duty to stand up for Hungarian industry players as well. Our proposals aim to ensure that high value-added, high-skill biotechnology manufacturing activities remain in Hungary and continue to generate significant added value for the Hungarian economy.\u201d<\/strong><br\/><br\/><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding the draft legislation, Vikt\u00f3ria Ferenc declared: \u201cIn recent years, the European biotechnology sector has fallen into a competitive disadvantage on the global market. We must bring investments back to Europe. One suitable way to do this is to increase the number of clinical trials \u2014 an area where Hungary was previously a major player. The ultimate goal of our amendments is to guarantee Hungarian people\u2019s access to affordable medicines.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Andr\u00e1s Gy\u00fcrk highlighted: \u201cAnother key objective of our amendment proposals was to support Hungarian pharmaceutical industry players. There can be no stable supply without a strong domestic industry. In the face of intensifying international competition, it is a fundamental national interest that high-skill biotechnology manufacturing activities and the investments underpinning them are carried out and remain in Hungary.
