More than forty percent of Ukraine\u2019s total electricity and natural gas imports originate from Hungary, which has therefore become the country\u2019s leading and most reliable energy supplier.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cFrom the very beginning, Hungary has condemned Russian aggression and has consistently stood for peace, yet it continues to face unjust criticism. But facts are stubborn things,\u201d the representative emphasised.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cThe destruction caused by weapons, the power outages, the unheated apartments, the extreme cold have created an intolerable, inhumane situation in Ukraine. Believe me \u2014 as I come from there \u2014 that the population, worn down mentally and physically, is now sustained only by the hope that the peace initiatives will soon reach their goal,\u201d explained the representative of Transcarpathian origin, describing the reality on the ground in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n<p>The representative emphasized: \u201cPeace is the only instrument that will silence the weapons and put an end to the destruction. You, Madam Commissioner, acknowledged that you are aware of these violations, yet you do not wish to address the problem, despite our written warnings.
