the local Greek Catholic priest. In 1911, she married \u00d6d\u00f6n Bacsinszky (1880\u20131945), who had become a widower the previous year. His wife had died while giving birth to their young daughter. Aur\u00e9lia and her husband did not have any children together, but Aur\u00e9lia loved and raised \u00d6d\u00f6n&#8217;s daughter, Hedvig, who everyone nicknamed Mici, as her own.<\/p>\n<p>Due to \u00d6d\u00f6n&#8217;s work, the family moved several times. They finally settled in Ungv\u00e1r (Uzhhorod). They built a beautiful villa there.<\/p>\n<p>As the mayor of Ungv\u00e1r, then a district judge, and later a Czechoslovak senator, \u00d6d\u00f6n was one of the most influential figures in Subcarpathia (K\u00e1rp\u00e1talja).<\/p>\n<p>As her husband&#8217;s loyal companion, Aur\u00e9lia also took part in social duties. She presided over numerous foundations and regularly organized charity events.<\/p>\n<p>The family moved to Huszt (Khust) in 1938 because of her husband&#8217;s work.<\/p>\n<p>Their lives took a turn for the worse after the Red Army marched in. The Soviet authorities arrested her husband and sent him to a labor camp. He died there under unknown circumstances in 1945.
